How to convert DOC to PDF
The .doc format is the older Microsoft Word format used by Word 97 through Word 2003. While .doc files open in modern Word versions, they can look different on other computers depending on installed fonts and software. Converting to PDF locks the layout so the document appears identically on every device.
BoltConverter renders .doc files on its conversion server, preserving fonts, paragraph spacing, tables, and images. The resulting PDF is ready to email, print, or submit without worrying about formatting shifts on the recipient's side.
Upload your DOC file
Click the upload area or drag your .doc file onto the page. The file is sent over HTTPS.
Wait for rendering
The server opens the document and renders each page to PDF. Tables, fonts, and images are preserved.
Download the PDF
Save the PDF to your device. The original .doc file is deleted from the server immediately.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between .doc and .docx?
.doc is the older binary Word format used before Office 2007. .docx is the newer XML-based format. Both can be converted to PDF with BoltConverter.
Will the PDF look exactly like the Word document?
For most documents, yes. Complex layouts with custom fonts or embedded objects may have minor differences if those fonts are not available on the conversion server.
Do I need Microsoft Word installed?
No. The conversion happens on BoltConverter's servers. You only need a browser to upload and download.
Can I convert password-protected DOC files?
Password-protected files cannot be processed. Remove the password in Word before uploading.
Is there a page limit?
There is no strict page limit, but very long documents may take longer to process. Most standard documents convert in a few seconds.
