How to convert DOCX to PDF
DOCX is the standard Microsoft Word format and the most widely used document format in business and education. The challenge with sharing DOCX files is that the recipient's version of Word, their installed fonts, and their operating system can all affect how the document looks. Converting to PDF locks the layout and typography so the document looks identical for every reader.
BoltConverter converts DOCX to PDF on its servers, preserving text formatting, tables, embedded images, headers, footers, and page margins. The conversion uses the same rendering pipeline as a full Word installation, so output quality is high even for complex documents.
Upload your DOCX file
Click the upload area or drag your .docx file onto the page. Files up to 100 MB are supported.
Conversion runs on the server

Most DOCX files convert in under 10 seconds. Complex documents with many images may take a little longer.

Frequently asked questions
Will the PDF look exactly like my Word document?
For most documents, yes. Text, tables, images, and standard formatting all carry over correctly. Documents using unusual custom fonts may show font substitutions if those fonts are not installed on the conversion server.
Are tracked changes and comments included in the PDF?
By default, the PDF shows the document in its accepted or final state without tracked changes or comment bubbles. If you want to capture those, accept or reject changes in Word before uploading.
Will hyperlinks work in the PDF?
Yes. Clickable hyperlinks in the DOCX are preserved as active links in the output PDF.
Is my document kept private?
Your DOCX is sent over HTTPS and deleted from the server immediately after the PDF is generated. BoltConverter does not retain your document content.
Is there a page or file size limit?
BoltConverter accepts DOCX files up to 100 MB. For most Word documents this is more than sufficient. Very large files with embedded high-resolution images may approach this limit.
