Why is my GIF so large compared to the MP4?
GIF is far less efficient than modern video codecs like H.264. A 5-second MP4 might be 500 KB while the same clip as a GIF is 5 MB or more. This is a fundamental limitation of the GIF format.
Does the GIF have sound?
No. GIF does not support audio. Only the video frames are converted.
What is a good length for a GIF?
Under 10 seconds is ideal. Beyond 15 seconds, GIF files become very large and may not loop smoothly in all apps.
Can I trim the video before converting?
If the tool supports a trim option, use it. Otherwise, trim your MP4 with a video editor before uploading to get just the clip you want.
Why are the colors in my GIF different from the video?
